What
a year!
In
fiscal 2000, Independent Business Owners affiliated with
Amway Global
generated first-year sales of $518 million. This seasonal sales
achievement included $448 million at
Amway Global, plus additional $70
million at Amway Global's Partner Stores.
Helping
to shape and power this achievement, of course, were the efforts
of the Board of the
Independent Business Owners Association
International.
At
its meetings throughout the year, the Board provides
Amway Global with
a continuing and comprehensive series of suggestions and
recommendations on all aspects of the business. The October meeting
was no exception, as the Board recommended new products and
programs, improvements to the Amway Global
Web site and changes to the Rules of Conduct and Independent
Business Ownership Plan.
One
of the highlights at the October meeting was the presentation
of the
annual
Joe Victor Award to Board Vice President
Jody Victor. The
award—named for
Jody's father, who was one of the
Association's
founding members—is presented yearly to the Board member who
exhibits such as integrity, honesty, loyalty and an unselfish desire
for growth for everyone.
Newly
elected Board members beginning their term Jan. 1, 2001 are: Randy
Haugen,
Jerry Meadows, Ed Courtney,
Hal Gooch, Craig Bishop, Bill
Childers, Kanti
Gala, David Humphrey, Tim Kline and
Dan Yuen.
