With another
strong year for business just concluded, the Board of the
Independent Business Owners Association International convened
during October in Grand Rapids, Mich., to plan for more growth
in 2003.
And a strong
year it was. In fiscal 2002, Independent Business Owners powered by
Amway Global generated
sales of $901 million, and IBOs earned a total of $282 million in
bonuses and incentives. Furthermore, both of these numbers represent
increases from the year before.
Contributing to this
success were many new products developed with the input and support of
the
IBOA International Board. These standout products included
Nutrilite®
Concentrated Fruits and Vegetables, new flavors of
Trim
Advantage®
Protein and Meal Replacement Bars, and various
Artistry®
products, including Replenishing Eye Crème.
To help ensure
similar success in 2003, the Board at its October meeting examined many
of the new products and services slated to introduce during the coming
months. In addition, the Board suggested improvements for
www.quixtar.com, reviewed proposed literature support, and began its
work on recommendations for next year’s Sales Incentive Program.
Also at the meeting,
officers and new members of next year’s Board were elected and
announced. Leading the 2003 Board will be
Jerry Meadows, President;
Fred
Harteis, Vice President; and
Billy Florence, Secretary/Treasurer. Newly
elected members beginning three-year terms in January 2003 are
Tim Foley,
Bill Hawkins,
Bobby Howard,
Paul Miller,
Tom Payne, and
Jody Victor.
Every October
meeting also includes the presentation of two special awards. This year,
the Joe Victor Leadership Award was awarded to
Greg Duncan. The Jere
Dutt Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Bill Britt,
IBOA
International Board Ambassador.
