• Backing the 70 Percent Rule

With a tiered compensation plan, a key feature to most MLMs,
it’s sometimes tempting to find shortcuts for earning bonuses and awards. For some business
opportunities, one way
is to buy lots of company products, whether or not you use
or
sell them to a customer. Many years ago, the
IBOAI
and
Amway Global recognized the problem and developed
a rule against it – Rule 4.18 of the
Rules of Conduct,
sometimes
called “The Seventy Percent Rule.”

spam. It’s the “junk mail” of electronic communications, and
there are rules against it. For your IBO business, a very important
rule is 4.23 of the
Rules of Conduct, which prohibits Unsolicited Email Messages.
• Never Bring Products into a Different Country

Every once in a while, we get the question, “How do I send
Amway Global
products to another country?” The right answer – and IBO Best Practice – is: Other than sending a gift bottle of something to someone for personal use, you shouldn’t.
• Be Creative, Just Not with the Product Claims

One aspect most IBOs like about an independent business is the ability to be creative. To imaginatively market the opportunity and the products. To help others see the potential in their futures and imagine how quality products can improve their lives. However, one area where you shouldn’t be creative is in the area of product claims.

The saying used to be, “I’ll sponsor anyone with a pulse.” It was said in jest to express eagerness to build the business, but it really spoke volumes about the openness of the opportunity.

We live in the age of the Internet. So much communication passes
across the Internet, it seems natural to join in. However, the
IBOAI Board and
Amway Global established zero-tolerance rules to prohibit
harmful online activities. These are the IBO Best Practices Online
Rules.

It shouldn’t surprise you that two things you shouldn’t discuss on stage are politics and religion. Rule 3.1 actually broadens the list to include race, gender, and nationality.
